SURREY, BC - Hot on the heels of a successful Girls Showcase, the Whitecaps FC Boys Showcase presnted by Sport Chek returns for its second edition this weekend at Newton Athletic Park and Hjorth Road Park. Teams from across Canada have gathered looking to impress visiting scouts from top colleges and universities, as well as Whitecaps FC Residency staff.
The event runs from Friday March 29 to Sunday March 31 and also features Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency sides in action, taking on rivals Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday March 30.
The showcase begins with a full lineup of EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League matches taking place on Friday. The pick of the weekend’s BCSPL encounters features two undefeated teams, as Mountain United FC U-13s take on Coastal FC U-13s at 12 p.m. on Field #6 on Friday.
Following the conclusion of the BCSPL action, attention will shift to Whitecaps FC Residency teams taking on their Seattle Sounders FC counterparts. Both matches will be held at Newton Athletic Park on Field #1 on Saturday as the U-18s kick off at 12 p.m. with the U-16s following them at 2:30 p.m.
The showcase wraps up on Sunday with the completion of tournaments across the age groups.
