In the latest installment of our “10 questions” series, we pick the brain of Argentine midfielder Mauro Rosales – one of the most experienced players on Whitecaps FC’s roster.
1. If you weren't a soccer player, what would you be?
Fitness coach. It’s one of the things I really wanted to do if I didn’t become a professional soccer player. I like sports and I like to be active.
2. Who would play you in the film of your life?
I’m a fan of Mark Wahlberg, so I guess he can do it!
3. What’s on your bucket list?
Probably a round-trip with my family. We love to travel, so it’s something we’ll probably do after I finish my career.
4. Do you have any superstitions?
I’m Catholic so before the game I always pray and wish everybody good health, for me to be safe, and to have a good game. It just helps make me feel more relaxed.
5. If you were stuck on a deserted island, which of your teammates would you bring?
Probably Kendall Waston. He can cook, he can clean, and he can do anything you need to survive. I think he could help me a lot.
7. What’s your guilty pleasure?
Eating sweets like chocolates or candies.
8. What’s your worst habit?
Leaving my clothes all around my house.
9. When are you happiest?
When I’m around my family, friends, and the people I really care about and love. Obviously, my teammates here in Vancouver but back in Argentina being close to my family and friends is the happiest moment that I could have.
10. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Being a soccer player and being able to enjoy the moments I had playing in some of the biggest tournaments in the world with great players. Playing for the national team and winning the Olympic gold medal … I had a lot of good stuff happen in my life and it’s all because of soccer.
