STORYLINES

Do or die: After a thrilling 2-2 draw in the first leg, a match that saw Vancouver control the run of play in the second half despite playing with 10 men, the ‘Caps will need to win the game on Wednesday or score at least three goals in a draw to lift the Voyageurs Cup. Another 2-2 draw will send the series to extra time, and if needed, a penalty shootout.

Unbeaten in five: The ‘Caps are riding a five-match unbeaten run in all competitions dating back to the second leg of the Canadian Championship semifinal, including a gutsy 2-1 away win over Portland Timbers this past weekend. And in each of those matches, they have scored at least two goals. Can they keep the run going on Wednesday?

Injury bug: Alphonso Davies (right hip flexor strain) and Doneil Henry (right hand fracture) were both ruled out of Saturday’s Cascadia derby in Portland, leaving their availability for Wednesday in question. Certainly, the Canadian duo will be itching to be involved, but will they be ready?
