VANCOUVER – Buckle up: it’s going to be a busy month for Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

The ‘Caps will play a total of seven matches during the month of July, starting this Monday – yes, Monday – with an Independence Day clash at LA Galaxy (7:30 p.m. PT on TSN1 and TSN 1040).

Following Monday’s visit to California, Whitecaps FC will return to BC Place for four consecutive matches – their longest homestand of the season – before closing out the month with a pair of tough matches in Texas. Did we mention the MLS All-Star Game is this month too?

Have a closer look at the month’s schedule below.

MONDAY, JULY 4 AT LA GALAXY (7:30 P.M. ON TSN1)

This will be Vancouver’s second and final meeting with LA Galaxy this season. It’s also their first trip back to the StubHub Center since last year’s 1-0 victory that snapped LA’s 29-match home unbeaten run. This time, however, the Galaxy are expected to have the likes of Steven Gerrard and Giovani dos Santos in the lineup. Can the ‘Caps spoil their Independence Day bash?

SATURDAY, JULY 9 VS. COLORADO RAPIDS (7 P.M. AT BC PLACE)

This has all of a sudden become a pretty juicy matchup. Not only are Colorado Rapids the surprise league-leaders at the midway point of the season, they’re also set to welcome U.S. international Tim Howard. The longtime Everton keeper will make his Rapids debut on Monday vs. Portland.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 13 VS. REAL SALT LAKE (7:30 P.M. AT BC PLACE)

RSL and Vancouver are currently neck and neck in the Western Conference standings – RSL are three points ahead with a game in hand. Picking up all three points July 13 could make life easier when the playoff race heats up. This will also be Whitecaps FC’s annual Pride Night.
