VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Tuesday that TSN Radio 1040 Vancouver will be home to Vancouver Whitecaps FC during the 2016 MLS season.
TSN Radio's flagship Vancouver station will carry 29 of the 'Caps 34 regular season matches, beginning with the season opener versus Montreal Impact at BC Place this Sunday, March 6. The remaining regular season schedule will be broadcast live on TSN Radio 1410.
In addition, the Amway Canadian Championship matches will be on TSN Radio 1040 as the 'Caps begin their defence of the Voyageurs Cup. The semifinal first leg is on Wednesday, June 1, and second leg will be seven days after. The ACC Finals are set for June 22 and 29.
Peter Schaad will once again be the voice of Whitecaps FC on TSN Radio Vancouver, providing play-by-play commentary alongside analyst David Norman.
Scott Rintoul will host a 60-minute pre-game show, with an extended show prior to a number of matches, including this Sunday's tilt versus Montreal. The show will be broadcast live on location from field level at BC Place before home fixtures.
TSN Radio 1040 will also launch a two-hour radio talk show hosted by Peter Schaad about Whitecaps FC and MLS that will regularly air on Monday evenings - with some exceptions - at 7 p.m. PT. The program, which debuts on Tuesday, March 8, will include lively discussions, in-depth analyses, and exclusive interviews with knowledgeable experts and personalities.
