Last week, 'Caps striker Corey Hertzog concocted an April Fools gag that will keep future rookies on their toes. On Friday, Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2013 top draft picks Kekuta Manneh (fourth overall in the MLS SuperDraft) and Erik Hurtado (fifth overall) were asked to come to training early on Monday, April 1, for a special "MLS rookie calendar" photo shoot.
Sure enough, at 8:15 a.m. on Monday morning, Manneh and Hurtado walked into the locker room not really sure what to expect, but as you will see both relished in the spotlight. To help set the stage, Omar Salgado, 2011 first overall pick, was also in on the gag and reassured the two rookies that he did the same thing a couple years ago.
