Good evening soccer fans! It's Luca coming in from Seattle again, just to recount the days events for you, including a 4-0 win against Portland!

This morning the team went for a short walk to Denny's for our pre-game meal at around 9:30am. Jennifer Gibson, our team nutritionist, has made out a 'food plan' for us while we are in Seattle, which included a list of appropriate menu choices from Denny's. I had a veggie omelet made with egg whites, along with a fruit bowl and some whole-wheat toast. Not bad...

At about 11am we met to have our pre-game meeting, at the hotel. This is where Teitur and Todd talk about our strategy going into the game, such as starting lineup, things we need to focus on, etc. Then it's straight onto the bus and we arrive at the field at about 1145am to start preparing for the 1:00pm kick-off.

1pm comes and the game has begun. I am on the bench for the start of this one, and so my job is to be ready to play as soon as I get called upon, and support the guys on the field in any way possible. The game goes quite well, it looks as though Portland has a lot of new faces and makes a full team change at halftime, but the we are persistant and manage to put 4 past Portland. 4-0. I get on for the last 20 minutes at centre back. All in all a good day for the team, and there is a lot of positive energy to take into the game against Seattle on Saturday.

After the game we head back to the hotel to shower up and then we are straight back onto the bus to head into downtown Seattle for some dinner. Stefan, Lyle, and I were looking for a place to eat that was also showing the Canada-USA olympic qualifying match, and long story short, we ended up finding one about an hour later at the spot we had originally started at. Tough loss for Canada against what looked to be a very strong USA side...

And so, the day is at an end. Tomorrow is our day off, we train midday and I'm going to try get some homework down too.

Good night,
Luca
